Day 112- 7/1/17 west Cary pond lean to to bald mountain lean to 28.7 miles. 2053.3 Total miles.
What a day! This morning I got on the trail at 5:10! I was ready to go and knocked out my first 14 miles before 11am! I made it to the Kennebec river where I was shuttled across in a canoe and stopped by the cars rink house B&B for lunch. There I had a huge pulled pork sandwhich and a very large milkshake!
I got back on the trail around 1 and after a while my knee began to really bother me. I took breaks and slowed down and made it just fine.
This evening it began to rain so I hiked soaking wet and still had to fight off the attack of the mosquitos. I didn’t think mosquitoes liked rain but nothing stops the mosquitos up here. I got to the shelter, got settled in, had dinner, and now I’m listening to the monsoon of rain beat on the tin roof of the shelter. Gonna be another early morning tomorrow I hope!
“For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.”
John 1:16-18 ESV
